Binnen de Nederlandse KDE gemeenschap is de regel dat de u-vorm wordt 
gebruikt, tenzij de toepassing op jonge kinderen is toegespitst.
Ik meen dat hetzelfde ook binnen de Nederlandse GNOME gemeenschap geldt.

Ik ben dus voor *Office* vóór de u-vorm.
