So, should we then advise the different language marketing groups to
make use of the Mplus fonts for their design and content until the Vegur
font work is completed? Why should we just not adopt and improve on the
Mplus font set instead of Vegur? Is there a technical reason why we are
so set on Vegur?

No - not technical. It's just visual / consistency.

Our logo is based on Vegur (and one of the reasons to do so are the round dots on the "i" looking much more friendly and inviting than square dots).

An accompanying font should work well with the logo font - and I'd like to avoid a mixture of rounded and square dots, if there are no other issues with the fonts.

Try to recreate the LibO logo with the M+ font and you will get a different feeling about what the logo means.

When we'll think about a new iteration of the logo, we'll have to include thoughts about the logo font too...

Best regards

Bernhard
