Hi everyone,

Great idea!

I prefer to use shorter tags such as [UX] and [VI] as opposed to full
words. Otherwise the subject of the email may get cut off, especially
since
all our emails are automatically tagged with the list at the beginning
ex:
[libreoffice-design][UX].

+1

As for the specific tags I would prefer [UX] and [BD] (Branding
Design) and
of course no tag would be general purpose (such as announcements).
Later we
might add 1 or 2 more but I think it should be kept very simple,
otherwise
new members might get confused about which tags to use.

+1

(I didn't want to propose [BD] because of my name ;-) )

Honestly: I don't know if "Visual Design" or "Branding Design" covers
our goals better and are better known in public or among designers.

So I'm open to any of these tags.

Best regards

Bernhard

Cheers,
Jaron

Hi all,

would you like to add special tags to the subjects of your mails to show
even more clearly, if the topic related to User Experience [UX] or
Visual
Identity / Branding Design [VI]?

This might make it easier to browse the list for topics you are
interested
in.

Do you think this makes sense?

Best regards

Bernhard

This has been proposed before some months ago and we all thought that it made sense. However, I am not in favour of shorter tags for the simple reason that the mailing lists are open to all members and new members. This will only add another layer of complexity for members, who, let's not forget, English is often times not their first language.

I would favour short descriptive tags that are still readable by members without having to search through our files for their meaning. If we keep it simple, then we make it possible for interested members to jump in and help right away.

Cheers

Marc
