I researched a little, and it seems APEWS is a rather aggressive blacklist
that does not offer an option for delisting - in the end, there's very
little we can do. You should talk to your ISP whether it makes sense to rely
on this blacklist, as they seem to be blacking wide ranges of IPs.

I also had a look at their website (© 2006-2010 by APEWS.ORG - guess
that speaks for itself) - and their "FAQ" is one of the worst reads
ever. But nevertheless it included a tiny bit of maybe helpful
information.

Sorry I can't do much here - relying on APEWS for filtering seems to be bad,
as it doesn't allow ISPs to delist directly. :/

Indeed. They explicitly write:

"Q41: How does one contact APEWS?
A41: One does not. APEWS does not accept removal request by email,
fax, voicemail or letters. [....]"

The only chance to get unlisted is to:
"Q42: My IP address/range is being listed by APEWS but I'm not a
spammer and I just signed up for this/these address(s). What can I do
to be removed from the list?
[...]The network owner (and no one else) can then post a message in a
public forum mentioned above with the APEWS record number (eg.
E=211497) and/or the IP address/range/domain information in it.
Placing the text "APEWS:" in the subject can help a APEWS editor or
developer see the message and they may double check the listing - note
that, although others may, no APEWS editor or developer will ever
reply to the posting.[...]"

The public forums mentioned are:
the newsgroups news.admin.net-abuse.blocklisting (but that was shut
down in 2011 already
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/news.admin.net-abuse.blocklisting
and
news.admin.net-abuse.email that contains some recent APEWS related
postings from victims, but reading the replies is not for the faint of
heart.

Don't post there. You *WILL* be flamed, and rightfully so.

→ Tell your ISP to stop using APEWS blocklists. Every mail-admin who
uses that lists gives a s*t about its users. Fine if you want to use
it for your own business, if you're offering business to your clients,
using that blacklist is a stupid idea.

Let me put it in stronger words:
Using APEWS blacklist questions your ability to run services for other people.

Feel free to cite me on that. (not speaking for TDF though, I'm not in
any position to speak for TDF anyway, I'm just a member and in no
official position)

ciao
Christian
