At some point it says to keep a working copy in .ODT format, but that (and a comment about why) 
needs to be made more prominent and stated more strongly. I'll make sure the next iteration of the 
books (Writer Guide and others, not just Getting Started) does that.

Having said that, I also agree with Craig's next paragraph.
