Thanks too, Christian, you seem to "get" what I mean. On some of the links
I followed from your reply, I found an excellent example of what I think
would do justice to the LO icon - it was/is a proposal from Andy Fitzsimon
for the web-page artwork - his "Dove" carries the symbolism of freedom, and
maybe even a nod to the old "seagulls".
The referrence to the seagulls is a little problematic from my POV - I
mean LibreOffice is independent, and doesn't want to be confused with
Apache OpenOffice
I'd prefer if it was another symbol, even something that could be
turned into a plush toy..
