oh, no, it should be fair, open, transparent and non-intrusive. People should have a choice, we only want to tell them a bit more than we did before our need for donations. :)
They do do one interesting thing though. They give you a choice on where the money will be used.
I second Tom's feeling here, doing this legally binding is *TEDIOUS*. It is a real pain. Also from a practical side, I think that it's much better that the teams working on projects make these proposals. People not involved in LibreOffice might not see the necessity for certain spendings. As an example, booking, accounting and tax advice are really unsexy, but required, and they cost money because from time to time, externals need to be involved on a contracted basis. I bet nobody would donate explicitly for that, but it's a real requirement...
