I just hope the download-donation page is not like what Ubuntu is now
doing for their download-donation page. They use a red button for the
"go to PayPal to complete the donation" but there is only a red text
letting you opt out of the payment. It should have been a button like
the payment option.

oh, no, it should be fair, open, transparent and non-intrusive. People
should have a choice, we only want to tell them a bit more than we did
before our need for donations. :)

Leaving all that political and emotional stuff (to do or not to do) aside:
What would be relatively easy is to replace the download button the
user clicked on with a donate-button.

Problem arise in how to deal with translations / the styling, etc -
but that can worked out.
Instead of changing the button in the javascript, one could have a
hidden donate button prepared in the page and just toggle visibility
of download and the corresponding donate button.

ciao
Christian
