Hi :)
+1
It might be good if the middle-man/woman is experienced or interested in
the
relevant team so that they spot which are the most important and relevant
issues. But yes, that is a side issue. Any translator would be very
helpful
imo.

Tom :)

I think that if we are to be realistic, then the use of English has been
established for a long time as a "de facto" universal means of
communicaton!
So, I don't honestly believe that the use of any other language would
work.....It just could not serve our main purpose!
Just one more thought:
I vote strongly in favour of leaving it to the local communities to
decide who- among their volunteers- is the best suited person for the
job!
Apart from his/her fluency in English, let us not forget that behind
him/her stands the power of the local community!
Therefore, even if there should be minor translation problems, just by
using the Community's good will and coo, everything will be smoothed out
nicely.
+1.
In my view, those people have no need to know the language, but his/her
duties. Anyone else with language skills could act like a interpretor,
translating either e-mails and/or conference calls.
Regards from Greece
Cheers.
