Whilst I might agree with you that
potentially affected users could (should) have been implicated from the
start, the fact of the matter is that GSOC projects are not at the heart
of most people's minds when considering evolutions to the LibreOffice
product, which might explain why such considerations weren't raised
during pre-design discussion.

Hence it's great that you (& others with business experience) are on
this list :)
