LibreOffice
- convert all remaining green fonts to black (again, except for 
LibreOffice)
- leave only trademark & copyright statements in curve
- place all other type format perpendicular to the axis-point
- add version and release date
- give the DVD a subtitle: "Application & Bonus Material" or something

I hacked your job to give you an idea of what I mean.  The fonts are 
craptastic and the curved lettering should be black but, it's a hack.

I might recommend reformatting one of the lines perhaps for word wrap.
But it does fit the idea of minimal printing resources IMO and still
gets all the data in there, I rather like it.

I'm not so sure about minor release numbers and dates however - which is
to say I can see valid reasons for having them and not having them. 

One thing you have to think about is WHO is going to maintain these
files and how much editing must you do each time there is a minor
release - in fact should they be updated for minor releases even?




Get LibreOffice onto as many boxen as soon as possible

In my mind, that means making the name sticky.  For that, I say:

-make a big-sized, full-color image of your beautiful artwork for our 
booths
-make a few t-shirts with the same, beautiful colors, to be raffled off
-make /some/ modest-looking dvd's. emphasize "BONUS MATERIAL". Raffle 
'em off too.
-make business cards (w/blank space for individuals to write contact 
info)
-make available a machine with the image: tell those w/flash to 
download on the spot

In the end, getting LibreOffice's name & logo into their minds is the 
goal.  DVD's can help but the lifespan of their utility has become so 
short that we should look for other ways to render LibreOffice 
unforgettable.

Thanks again for your efforts.  This kind of quality work bodes well 
for LibreOffice.

I am on a fixed income, so I know cheap.
We could have several label types, full color, Black and White, and a 
mix that can be printed on white or green paper.  Also, the cheap end of 
the DVDs is using CD jewel cases instead of the larger DVD cases.

I agree with both of you on this - the best way to go is to have this
collection of artifacts, that fit different uses.

The original work is from the LibreOfficeBox project, you can see the

Maybe not - the links fail at the moment - anyway , lots of solid color
backgrounds, and indeed was designed specifically for offset printing.

Then the current work was intended for either professional digital
printing or local color laser printer/ink jet.

Having another set of items even more frugal on ink, as Craig is showing
would be a natural IMO.

So I would not remove anything, but I would add these other options -
including one for lightscibe discs.


The Bonus Material text idea might be a good idea.
The business cards, for me, is to be printed as cheaply as I can get 
them.  I do not do my own printing much anymore.

Have you looked at the other items already uploaded to the wiki,
brochure, actually there is a new one, not uploaded yet, post cards and
business cards.

Again - continuing to add to the collection is a winning idea.


Get everything that is needed for the distribution of the DVDs and 
marketing of it.  Then provide ways to do this as cheaply as possible 
and go up the scale from there.


- there are a couple of ways to look at that, one being having these
pre-made files up to a simple fulfillment center.
