My whole DVD of folders and files is now online, but most of the Install

So if you go to the link off of my domain, you will see my

*laughing*...ok - wow you have done a lot.

Well, I still haven't made it to the kitchen for some foraging - after
that I'll come back and look at how you are saving my bacon here,

Well I ate 3 times already today. Usually by 7pm I have eaten only two meals. One solid food and the first more like juice and Boost-like food drink. Of course, my place is too small for me to have all my book shelves and a kitchen table in my combined living, dining, and living room. Had to give up the kitchen table so I could keep my computer furniture with my books. So when I eat, I have to fight my cat. He wants to be on my chest "smelling" my mouth while I eat thinking I am his mama and I will give him some of my food.
[end of OT]

Well I did a lot of stuff before like this, so I knew some of what I was doing.

It also helps when you started coding web pages with a simple/plain text editor like "NoteTab ++" and did that on large web sites for more than 5 years before you first found a so-so WYSIWYG web page editor like a modern word processor. Kompozer is what I finally end up with a few years ago. Good thing it has a Linux version besides Windows. It still is not like the expensive ones, but free is free is free. That is what my budget can afford.

So with the help of Kompozer and some remembering [which is the harder of the two] how to do the work the more efficient way, I started to work on the DVD pages. Actually Google's Translation Toolbar helps a lot.

The following is what I get when I cut/paste from/with the English translation of the German "first page"/index.html.

The libre office box offers with this compilation is a cross section through the work of the German community in libre office. Die DVD ist für private wie professionelle Anwender gleichermaßen gut geeignet. The DVD is for private and professional users alike good.

Die moderne Open Source Office Suite <> steht unter freier Lizenz ( GNU LGPLv3 <> ). The modern open-source office suite <> under a free license ( GNU LGPLv3 <> ). Sie wird auf den Datenträgern ergänzt mit Dokumentvorlagen <> , Extensions <> , Wörterbüchern <> , Artwork <> und Entwicklermaterial ( Quellcode und SDK <> ). It is the media supplemented with templates <> , extensions <> , dictionaries <> , artwork <> and developer material ( source code and SDK <> ). Weitere freie Open Source Software <> für den Alltag und das Büro macht daraus ein Komplettpaket für die offline Installation in fast jeder gängigen Software-Umgebung. Other free open source software <> for everyday life and the office makes it a complete package for offline installation in almost any standard software environment.[unquote]

As you can see [hopefully], first is the German sentence, then the English translation. Next is the next German sentence, and so forth and so forth. Then there is all that editing out of the German text and links. After that, I have to edit the links to either the English web page, link on the local folders of the DVD, or just use the German online sites through the translation system. This just takes some time and some fiddling. Then there is the decisions on what I can do to make the English version DVD to be easier to keep maintained and updated. Then there is the pages that could be confusing to the end-users [ read suite types and parents of smarter kids ] if they were kept in the same format. Also there was the "development" section but no easy way to locate the "documentation" section/page[s]. The end-users [think suites again] do not need to see how they can develop their own version of LibreOffice, but will need to access as many documents as you can find to use the product.

So I just did what came naturally to me before I had my last two strokes. When I limit the number of hours a day I am in front of this monitor, due to my back injury [and shoulder ones as well] pain, I am not doing as much as I use to. 8 or 10 hours a day at a keyboard was normal back then. Now it is maybe 1 hour at a time and then 2 or more sitting in a chair reading with my cat on my lat [or chest] till the pain lessens enough to do it over again. Well I have to go now.

The pain is back "up there" again.

Just checked - 9:17 pm eastern - 14 more file in the install folders to go and it will be all uploaded. For today at least.
later, tomorrow maybe to do more.
