i'm not worried bout not having junit wasn't sure if junit would have been affected by --without-java. reason i was having as of last night was small issue with autogen.sh which kendy kindly fixed

It would, but this is no issue. Just install junit4 (and DO WHAT THE
MESSAGE SAYS IF IT STILL DOESN'T FIND IT - aka. specify the path) or
use --without-junit

Bastardizing a build just because soome people can't add configure
options is not senseful.
