The patch touches some low hanging fruit, translation
      wise.

However, in my view, the patch itself is of little
        consequence.

Currently libreoffice lacks considerable infrastructure and
        documentation wrt translations.

Most translators have little development experience and it is
safe to conclude that most (at least new) translators are unable
to use git, or other tools.

Personally I like the translation infrastructure of the
        Launchpad and GNOME.

I especially like the model Launchpad takes, because it is
much much easier for non-developers to contribute.
The model GNOME takes a steeper learning curve, but a
        reasonable one.
I don't know about the original Sun/Oracle infrastructure,
but I know that it worked to a reasonable degree(as shown by the
        diverse translation communities)

      Just my 2 cents.

      Questions welcome.
