And monochrome icons are the ideal icon types for a possible "native" OS X interface. For that 
reason it would be logical to have a complete monochrome/flat icon set at hand.

Symbolic icons proposed in GNOME project are also far better than the current icons, but I agree 
some colors may improve their usability.

Having a new clean and neat GUI for LibreOffice it's more than necessary and maybe you could show 
us some mock-ups following a specific idea before starting to change all the icons.
