Hi David, *

Hi Ron, :-)

Thanks for this. We also need stuff like square avatar icons (64x64
and 48x48 for instance).

I marked your request as one of the most urgent tasks to do - sorry for not replying earlier.

Do you want to add these avatars on our homepage or at other places on Internet?

I don't want such an avatar used as personal identifying graphics in e.g. facebook, when it might be misinterpreted as official spokesperson of out community/TDF.

Therefore we'll probably need different graphics / avatars.

For avatars on our website we could use the new icon for the main LibO application (being available in 48x48 and just to be extracted from the SVG file in 64x64)

[First item in http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/cgi_img_auth.php/f/f2/LibreOffice_Initial_Icons_source.svg]

And we could use similar banners designed
with other color schemes in mind, or carrying other
LibreOffice-related messages.

I'd rather like to see one unified graphical scheme to spread our branding in a consistent way than different visual languages in different color schemes.

I can imagine one set of branded artwork on light background (white and green) and another on dark background (green? grey? black? ...). Perhaps something like the design kick-off graphic?

But it will take a few days to define the "main" theme among the design team.

If you feel like throwing a few of those at us, please feel free.

Please do, Ron, if you want to (and everybody else too):

This would give us a chance to define our "official style" based on visual mockups.

Any chance we can get the source file for your banner? (for Gimp,
Inkscape, Photoshop or whatever...)

Your banner will be available for download from a special page for
such community-offered supporter artwork, for site banners, etc., over
the next few days.

We definitely need such a page (or a gallery of pages) where people can download the artwork they need.

Did you have a look at the structure provided at OOo?

I provided a place for "official" artwork at the website
[ http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/official_galleries.html ] and another one for "additional" artwork (not or not yet approved by the design team) at the wiki
[ http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Art/Gallery ].

Do you think something like that would be reasonable here too?

@Bernhard, @Christoph: any chance you guys could provide a little such
supporter artwork?

We'll have to define the theme first, but then we'll provide all necessary graphics in the team :-)

As the most pressing time is (nearly) over, that's one of our next steps...

Ron, thanks very much for this contribution. ;-)

Same from my side - Thank you very much for both of your banners.

(I'll comment on the new one later - hopefully today...)

Best regards

Bernhard
