この状態でA1セルに 9.9 を入れるとB1は 1、同様に 99.9 
を入れると 10、999.9 の場合は 100 
が返ります。これって近似値とはいえないですよね…


なるほど。「近似値」なら9.9に対しては10、99.9に対しては100、999.9に対しては1000が返るはずだ、ということですね。
ごもっともと。
私の場合VLOOKUP/HLOOKUPは文字列で利用することが多いので「近似値」でなんとなくいいのかなとぼんやり思ってたところですが、数値で考えるとちょっと違和感ありますね。

整理は一旦スレッドをまとめます。
