分かりやすさは重要です。それを何ら否定するものではないのですが。

先のメールで上げた例のようにツールチップとダイアログの訳が違うというの
は非情に間抜けなわけです。
んで、表面はすでにsurfaceの訳語として使われているので、areaの訳を表面
とするのは非常に問題があります。

areaの訳を状況に応じて使い分けるという手もありますが、その場合は間抜
けな状態にならないように最新の注意を払わないといけないのと、今後area
という単語が出てくる度にいちいち議論しないといけないので、とても面倒
です。
そもそもわかりにくいのであれば原文が修正されるべきで、翻訳での修正は
最低限度に留めるべきです。理想的には。
（でも英語とのニュアンスの違いもあるので一概にはいえませんね）

というわけで、結論としてはareaの訳を領域に統一するのがいいのかなと思
いました。
もしこの案が通って、作業するのが大変だということであれば、私の方で引
き受けてもいいです。ヘルプも修正しないといけませんしね。
