Allego risposta avuta per comprendere il nuovo sistema wiki ed il
vecchio, tra il mio scambio di email con Ilmari, in modo che non
incappiate nei miei medesimi errori:

no, you cannot remove the pages from the translation. If you remove the
page from the translation, it breaks the whole system. I had to restore
them to translation, because the page system was broken.

Still, some permanent brokenness remains like the old menu being
displayed in https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/Calc/118/it
I have to ask some MediaWiki folks for help later.

To be clear, if some page has {{OrigLang|..}}, it is a part of the old
translation system (and its translated pages have {{Lang|}}). Therefore,
if you remove the OrigLang template or change it to DISPLAYTITLE, you
must also make it use <translate> and <languages /> elements and migrate
all the (complete) old translations to the new system. If you only
remove the OrigLang and do nothing else, people visiting the English
page will not see the language menu.

The migration to the new system needs some coordination from the
translation teams, especially when some page has a large number of
translations (main page etc.). Sophie Gautier has not yet had time to
work on this sort of coordination or getting familiar with the new
system.
