I am curious, if we were to keep both mailing lists and forums, would
this tax our infrastructure negatively? Do we have enough hardware
resources to handle it?
no, there should be no resource problem. I'm just not sure if it (forums
in lists and vice versa) won't create more confusion than it helps - but we
can give it a try, of course.
I think we'd have an uprising if we got rid of something that people have
gotten comfortable with. At best a slow transition might be called for (as
I agree it could cause confusion).
Thanks for getting this off the ground, I'll try to contribute more, my
to-do list:
Wiki (waiting for response on more details of what we want)
Rules (look through a few forums rules to get an idea of what we want to
do, point out any potential issues I see)
Brainstorm for sections
If I'm missing something or there is something else that is needed (not too
technical, I kind of am a "guess and check" learner for programming ;) )
feel free to let me know and I'll add it to my list.
Best Regards,
Joel
