From a .csv spreadsheet document, how would I filter text and save
the filtered items to another .csv spreadsheet document. I usually
use CSVed 2.1.4 to perform such tasks, but I would like to figure
out how to accomplish this from within LibreOffice Calc.

Thanks for everyone's help, but I am not trying to figure out how to
save a document as .csv, but trying to figure out how to filter a
.csv document by a word or phrase, and extract that data from within
one document and save it to another. Similar to using "Find &
Replace" to search for a word or phrase within a document. I just
can't figure out how to extract the found data to create a separate
document with only the extracted data to create a separate document,
such as another .csv document.
If I understand you correctly, this should be fairly easy:
o Open your .csv document in Calc.
o Apply the filter. (I'm assuming you know how to do this.)
o Now copy the range of filtered material.
o Either open a new spreadsheet document or insert a new sheet into
the existing one.
o Paste the copied material into the new document or sheet. Notice
that the copy action copied only the visible, filtered cells.
o Save the new document or sheet in .csv format: in either case,
only the active sheet will be saved.
As has already been suggested, you can achieve the filtering and
copying in one action (provided you have selected the appropriate
range of material) by clicking the More button in the Filter dialogue
and then using Copy results to... to copy the filtered results to
another sheet.
I trust this helps.
