Just wondering, is there something like "regional distribution people"?
In some cases, yes. North America, for example, at least for DVDs.

The LO North American Community DVD project has had DVDs since the mid 3.3 line. It is hard to get the DVDs beyond the area of the local individuals are living in though. I have given out 100's of DVDs to people, businesses, agencies, government offices, etc., within 10 to 30 miles of my location in New York State. I have also sent a few copies to people in the EU and India via mail, before there was an "easy" way to download the .iso files from LO's download pages.

Regional distribution people are all of us local users that have created a CD/DVD to be used as a promotional disc in various events and given to local/regional businesses, etc., etc..

The few of us who have promoted LO with the NA-DVDs do our best to get some type of promotional disc to users, local ones or via regional events. The NA-DVD project's English "text" DVDs are a good place to start to work on creating a regional one for English or even non-English community based distributions. Actually the NA-DVD started out based on the German DVD that came out in the spring/summer of last year. It has grown much since then and hopefully one day it will be using French and Spanish language text instead of English for the French and Spanish users in North America.

Since TDF/LO is not top down promotion, but bottom [user] up, everyone of our users who get together with others to promote LO through a disc or thumb-drive is a regional promoter.

OSCON is coming up and a Windows/Mac version of the full Windows/Mac/Linux NA-DVD seems will be handed out at that event, or so I hear. These people who are getting the DVDs/thumb-drives made and giving them to people at that event are Regional distribution people, or at least in my view.

There are a lot of local/regional people/groups that are handing out discs with LO installs and other "stuff" that are geared to their local needs and language. NA-DVD and the German DVD are the only ones that seem to be talked about, but there are other projects that could use a "Thanks for doing that" from our users and promoters. They need encouragement from us, but we do not hear from them "much".
