LO requires a "cloud" store/sync component analogous to MS Office365/Sharepoint[1]. Google already has one but only for MSO itself called OfficeConnect[2].
OfficeConnect was originally developed by two gents at DocVerse[3] which was acquired by Google. These two gents, Shan Sinha & Alex DeNeui, still work at Google and were responsible for retooling their product into OfficeConnect.
