Hi Rafael,

thanks for coming here (and for still caring about the template manager
you created)... apologies for the rather long list of bugs and
imperfections below.

Hello im currently working on improving the template manager, just giving

release if possible, so we can all make it better

I.e.: it needs support for more themes, not just Tango. [design needed,
then]

No, they are different. Maybe the difference is too subtle then?

I have quite a few things to add to this list, not all of them
completely design-related, actually – I didn't get around to reporting
them all...

  * Using "Set as default" makes LibreOffice crash when trying to use
the newly set default template (Try with one of Impress's
    presentation backgrounds)
  * https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61396 – Can't edit
template that is not in already in the template manager [Design
ideas there, but not yet final – Input wanted]
  * Can't selectively copy over styles from a template into current
document (regression, don't know bug no.) [design needed]
  * Can be opened multiple times (confusing?) [Is that a bug?]
  * "Sort by name" has large Galaxy icon (looks like Alex's instead of
    default) amidst smaller Tango icons
  * Size of thumbnails within folder rectangle changes when clicking on/
    hovering over folder
  * Down-arrow should jump to last item when there is no item
    immediately below current item
  * No minimum size for dialogue resizing set
  * Toolbar doesn't look like a toolbar (white background, no line below
    it)
  * "Refresh" seems unnecessary when working locally (might have a use
    remotely) [Is that a bug?]
  * Tabs blink incessantly blinking when moving mouse over them
  * Creating a new folder should not need a dialog (just add a folder
"Untitled Folder" and let the user edit the name of it in place)
  * It should be possible to create a new (empty) template (editing
would happen via the edit button, but there should be some more
help, like displaying big Edit button on thumbnail) [design needed]
  * Renaming templates is too easy (just click once on the name of the
    template)
  * No confirmation shown for "Set as default" (add some sort of tick or
    star?)
  * Resetting default templates is a bit complicated – maybe we can
remove the submenu there since the category is already chosen [is
    that a bug]
  * Can't search/sort/refresh/reset default as long as a template is
    selected
  * Pressing Esc should not close window when search bar is open (should
    only search bar)
  * Maybe a more obvious way of closing the search bar might be helpful
    [is that a bug?]
  * Unnecessary whitespace at below of template names – grid should
    resize a bit more flexibly
  * No continuous scrolling in template list
  * No big, obvious Open button
  * Selection state persists across tabs – user gets irrelevant toolbar
    actions

Regards,
Astron.
