Hi Rahul,

a warm "welcome" from my side too :-)

Dear Christoph,

Kindly find my answers to the questions below.

Well, it's hard to answer this question - at least from my
point-of-view. So instead of an answer, some more questions to you:
* What kind of material? Material for the web, or flyers, or
icons, or ... ?
*I want to work on User Interface of the products.*

Did you read the mail Christoph sent just a few hours ago?
http://go.mail-archive.com/Afskf_h5CtIJ4gwt78m_ADeVp_k=

As I can't remember anybody volunteered to work on this topic, it would be great if you could spend some time...

* What kind of designs? Designs that respect the current branding
guidelines, or are proposals how to re(de)fine the visual
representation?
*I want to work on visual representation.*

That's our goal here too: We want to work on UX/UI design as well as on branding/visual design.

As we are a very young team (coming from a 10 year old project with a corporate design team for product design), our workflows have not been established very well, so please bear with us...

* Who requested it? Is it based on your initiative, or did
somebody ask - e.g. based on the marketing or the design team
work topics lists?
*I suggested OpenOffice to my father and friends, but they dont like it
much just because it does not look good. (As in comparison to MS Office,
according to them)
So I thought to contribute some interface design ideas in form of
images. Although I am not a good designer but given a draft, there are
many ppl in the list who
make things more attractive.*

That's what we call "collaborative design" - feel free to comment on our proposals, draw mockups and improve our drafts...

You may also simply talk about your ideas on this list, then it is far
easier to understand where to put what material ... especially since we
would benefit from focused efforts to avoid doubling the effort.
*Suppose I have created a design, what next? Who should I mail it to?
who will evaluate it? and how will that be implemented?*

Did you already find our wiki?

When you created an account, you get your user page.

This is mine: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/User:Bedipp

Upload your design and add it to this page or to a sub-page like mine:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/User:Bedipp/Drafts

(Of course you can use external repositories and link to them)

Then post the link here on the list.

If you reply to an existing mail, your posting will be placed in the relevant thread, if you just send a new mail to the list's mail address, you will create a new thread.

About implementation I'll reply to your next mail.

Hope this helps a bit...

Best regards

Bernhard
