I just joined the list today, so forgive me if I shouldn't step into a
conversation this way. I have a DVD media printer, and could make small DVD
runs (a dozen or two). I don't have the ability to create package inserts
however. I often use see-through clamshells to get around this for my own
work, but that won't help this project. I am in Maryland.

I'd like to see more attention to "North American Community - what?
(Remainder of time)" Presumably the mission of the NA group is what is
driving the production of the disc. Having just come off of two expos,
it seems to be that much more could be done to increase the visibility
of LibreOffice.

linuxfestnorthwest.org...we had nice LibreOffice presence...thanks to
Dona Hertel, Andy Brown and my insider position (day-of-the-event and
volunteer manager). Dona's already provided some information. I was
not close enough to the action at the booth to get much detail.
Tech Tonic at Western WA University for students, faculty, staff...
http://www.wwu.edu/techctr/tech_expo/ I organized the Bellingham LUG
appearance. We were right across from Microsoft (They got
nothing...Kinect). Anyone interested in technology was stopping by our
booth to see Linux running on a laptop and a netbook. We had a variety
of apps open, including LibreOffice. And talked with people about
LibO. Not many knew about LibO; almost all had at least heard of
OOo...easy to communicate. informally...LibO is almost the same
technology as OOo. The major difference is that LibreOffice is a
community around the technology, while OOo is controlled by a large
tech company.

If you look at the link to Tech Tonic, you will see that this approach
landed well with the participants.

We just need more exposure. Would you like to join the LibreOffice
marketing blog? You could then blog on your experiences and these could then
be posted on the main LibreOffice blogosphere. If you have a Wordpress
account I can add you to the list of bloggers.

Cheers

Marc

Be nice to have our NA Community DVD go to the events/expos soon.

If Drew could give us a link in his "portal" site for the ISO file, it
would be great.
We have the DVD case cover and the DVD label files on our LibreOffice-NA.US
site
and will soon have the DVD insert paperwork, but the people who go to the
expos
should not need the instruction on how to use the DVD, should they? So
with the
ISO link, anyone who will be going to the expos could download the ISO
file, burn
some DVD, place the labels on it and use the cover if they use the DVD
style cases
instead of the CD jewel cases. Tigerdirect.com has 100-pack DVD cases for
under $20
and they even have DVD cases that hold 4 discs in 10-packs. That is where
I get mine.

The Windows-only DVD just needs a re-work of the install page, since it
look a little
empty with the Linux and Mac installs gone. Also, I want to get rid of the
BrOffice
installs that I have on it, since there is no longer a BrOffice "company".
 But it is all
there 1.6 GB of an ISO vs. 3.3 GB for the Win/Linux/Mac version.
