Hi Tim, Drew, Daniel

I just thought that I would start a new thread to continue our discussions
as it was getting a little too dispersed along different threads.

Tim and Drew -- There is a section on the disk for additions open source
files (Extras section)[1] and we spoke about having Tim's page of FOSS links
on that section. You may be interested in this link about FOSS directories
and FOSS disks with software in ISO formats[2]

Give me [Tim] the links to what FOSS would like physically on the DVD space
and also any text/link combination that they feel needs to be on the DVD

If Daniel joins the team, we will have all EN, ES (Daniel), FR
(Marc/Sophie, I believe) taking care of language and
translation/localisation. I would suggest we apply translation only from the
EN language to keep things as simple as possible rather than localise ES, FR
-- extensions/template will of course differ.

I will be running a Google translation, for the first look at the English to
Spanish.  Then I will make up the actual pages and the Spanish-page-links
[index-es.html, install-es.html, extras-es.html, and so forth].  Then I will
hand over the pages to whoever will be doing the work to make it a good
translation for Spanish Users.

Extensions/templates -- if the ES, FR team members come up with
recommendations, these should be included, and, if this has an impact on the
disk space, the "Extras" section will see the removal of some of the extra
software to make space for them.

If I get the links to the Spanish and French language extensions and
templates, I will download them and make sure all the pages and links will
be matched before it is handed over.  I can work on some way for the daily
work, or on some schedule, be placed on a portion of my domain so the
Spanish team members can use it for comments and we can keep abreast of the

I know the big issue I have is the lack of documentation for the non-English
users.  Is there any Spanish OOo documentation that we could use till
LibreOffice gets that far?  I am using OOo's English Guides to substitute
for the one that have not been made yet for LibreOffice.

Can we get some Spanish members of the site to
work on the translation of the documents if there is none currently
available?  There does not look like any listed on that site.

I want to do the Spanish and French DVD pages as a separate DVDs to start,
then merge them into one after the issues are worked out for each language
to run properly.  I will be making the DVD folder format to make the merger
as easy to add a small navigation bar to each page to switch back-n-forth
between languages.

Tim, I forwarded your message to spanish localization list. I'm pretty
sure many people will be interested.
