とします。
異論ありそうなら継続議論、なければUI翻訳 Hackfestで状況確認して採用していきたいと思います。

「あまり馴染みがない表現で、英文を無理やりカタカナにしたような文になっている」「略称が無ければ何を示しているかが分かりづらい」という点ではJPEGと同様ですが、こちらは”グラフィックス
インターチェンジ形式”と、”Format”だけカタカナではなく”形式”と訳しており、JPEG以上に分かりづらい訳になっています。
以上の理由から、こちらも原文のままの方がの意味やGIFという略称の意味も伝わりやすいと考え、上記のように変更提案をしました。
