Re: [libreoffice-website] [SC] Decision about CMS

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the note André. I am still trying to get the feel for how the
hierarchy works at LibO.

I have been taking part/lurking in many mailists and threads and one of
my concerns are that, as we found here, there has been no real formal
structure setup for the group membership. Voting on the CMS matter was
there rendered ineffective.

You already take part in the discussion on TDF membership on the discuss list, so I don't need to ask you to join or read the wiki page
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/TDF/Membership

I don't know if we need such formal decisions on groups and teams.
I think what we had at the OOo lists worked quite well: People known for their amount of active contribution have been heard by the majority of list members, so their opinion was more important than comments from "newbies".

And in the most cases discussions end with some kind of agreement on the best way to go.

If not, this could become a topic for the central foundation board - now the Steering Committee, later on replaced by a group of voted members from the different areas of the community.

Best regards

Bernhard
