You're totally right, but we didn't have a chance to do it differently.

This is the only open source community consisting of hundreds (thousands) people willing to contribute during the first week after it's announcement.

As you all know we only have very limited infrastructure as we didn't want to create the entire community behind the scenes.

Whit regards to website: There is a real need for localized websites *now*, and there are teams in several native-language teams waiting for any sign that they can start creating the webpages urgently needed by the non-English public.

I'm sorry that Christian's "demo" didn't cover this aspect enough, but as he has been involved in this area for several years (as co-lead of the OOo website project), these requirements have probably been too basic to write them down too.

People with very little experience in website construction will
have to be able to create websites for their own LibreOffice/TDF
area on the website.

Especially the native-language teams, but also marketing and user
support are waiting too long already.

We're losing momentum - contributors - users if we keep on
discussing the best solution.

I think we run this risk, but on the other hand, additional people
keep joining the mailing list and volunteering, so we may not have to
worry about it yet.

It's not only about the contributors: Users are interested in LibreOffice, but can't find the necessary information in their language.

This might be able to be handled for a few days or one week - but certainly not for the time we would need to set up a full set of Drupal modules fitting all our needs.

I hoped that the "demo" would be able to become the nucleus for a Drupal site where the native-lang teams could add their own pages, structure them on their own and provide the content their user need.

But if there is still one of the central necessities (adding relative / internal links) not addressed, it is not ready to be used.

Yes, I believe Drupal offers everything listed above and on the wiki
page.

Please try - I didn't find the button to add a link either. This might be a minor bug, but it is crucial for the work of our teams.

A few days ago, I added some requirements on the wiki page referring
to ad hoc group creation, things which I do not believe SilverStripe
can support, based on its demo and my research.

Who should be able to add such groups? Probably not the teams working on their localized websites.

Therefore this is not really relevant for the start. Later on, there might be a need (depending on the structure we want to give our community), but without a tool for creation of "normal, standard" websites with text, tables, images, links and so on, with saving the result of their work without publishing it directly this is no option at the moment.

If Drupal proves to be much better than SilverStripe in the long term (and I can imagine very well that this might be true), then we might consider switching our infrastructure from SilverStripe to Drupal *after* this infrastructure has been established.

We have to come to a conclusion and a working CMS *now*. This is far from being optimal - but there is no alternative in my eyes.
