I now made the header blog link translatable.

I’m not sure we are fully understanding each other, so I’ll try to explain more clearly.
I can see now that it is possible to translate the word “Blog.” However, what I am looking for
is the ability to change the link itself. For example, instead of pointing to
https://blog.documentfoundation.org, it would point to https://es.blog.documentfoundation.org.
https://git.libreoffice.org/infra/libreofficeorg/+/d0e5c37184b9fe214c88886a3d15f925d22796c9%5E%21
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/website/libreofficeorg/en/?checksum=2de3884da9491eb1
We are fully understanding each other, but there was an issue with Weblate and the translated
strings were not updated as usual.
The question that pops up is if there's someway for us this side to know stuff like this.
Also, while we are talking about links, in the past (in SS) it was possible to customize the URL
paths (slugs). Now, even if the link text can be translated — for example, “Download” to
“Descargar” — the link still points to /download.
From my point of view, this is not ideal, and it feels like a step backward compared to the
previous functionality.
This would indeed be supported by adding 'slug' into the front matter section of the Markdown
files: https://gohugo.io/content-management/urls/#slug
Things that would need solving:
- Where do we define the slug, so it is relayed by the translation tooling to the front matter of
the page (otherwise it gets overwritten by the generation step)? Probably hugo-gettext code needs
to be changed https://invent.kde.org/websites/hugo-gettext/
- How to adapt the language selector template code?
I have to focus on other things now for the next couple of weeks. Feel free to work on these, if
you like.
Well, same way you do, need to work.
