I'm translating some programs and web sites to Bulgarian.
The best workflow for me has [1]. It recognizes
user browser's language and has a language selector at the top.

Translations are managed by Transifex [2] and site synchronizes new
translations on every 2 (I think) hours. Another test site is used for new upcoming Fedora release. New
translation branch generated from the main translation is used for
each new release. At releasing new Fedora, this new branch becomes

Two comments on this. It's worth noting that SilverStripe, our CMS
allows for live staging pages. Which means that you could litterally
keep your upcoming changes (while previewing them) and publish them
when they're due. I am not sure what CMS the Fedora Project userans...
it Django CMS?

As for Transifex: for most localizations, we use Pootle. I don't belive
we put a hard constraint on using Pootle but that's pretty much what
the consensus would work. What's more, Pootle is hosted within our
infrastructure [1] which does not seem to be case with Transifex.

Is it a problem for you?

I'd be happy to say that we ought to have a language selector
somewhere on the top of the page, plus an attempt at automatically
guessing the browser's language. Besides that, there should be the
appropriate links to nlp sites as described in the top menu list

But once I've written that, I do realize I've written very little.
I'd be interested in the feedback of our non-natively-English
speaking friends. The "International Sites" top section has always
seemed awkward to me and I'm sure we can do better. Please discuss
on the website@ mailing list only.
