Hi Joel and Mas, (Could we keep to bottom posting? We have agreed to bottom
post to make it easier to follow the flow of discussion. Thanks.)

Any particular reason why the wiki is not listed on the page at
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/

I recently resolved a issue with getting Base to connect to Mysql and the
first place I went was the Wiki. Sad to say the Wiki did not have the
information I was looking for or the website. I ended up figuring out my
issue after a few hours of banging my head on the table. I am going to
post
the issue and resolution on the wiki within a few days. I notice there is
no reference to the wiki from the official website.

I think the idea is to help users find the best avenue to finding help.
Sending users to the wiki would be quite an exercise in frustration. Getting
help from "Documentation" would probably be the first place to look for Mas'
Base article. There is a reference to the wiki Faq pages in the
Documentation section of the website.

Mas would your article be best put in the Faq? There are already some Topics
there of which Base is included, In fact, it looks like Base has one of the
largest Faq articles of all.

Cheers,

Marc

While we're on the subject of the FAQs, the FAQ link from the get-help
page points to a page of questions about LO and TDF which has
essentially nothing to do with user support. The question for "Where
to get support" sends the reader back to the get-help page or to two
docs pages (website and wiki) or to the mailing lists. Nowhere,
AFAICT, is the wiki FAQ mentioned.

Although the wiki can be daunting for ordinary users, sending people
there from the get-help page could have the advantage of introducing
them to the community.

I don't particularly care whether or not we have a link from get-help
to the wiki, btw. Just pointing out some related issues about user
support.
