One big drawback: Current lucene setup is worthless, doesn't work with
non-english strings. I'll see tomorrow or the day after tomorrow
how/whether this can be changes. If I don't find a way to make search
working for "Übergrößenträger" at least, then it was a short
evaluation, but better to fail early, than after weeks of fiddling
around.

Hmm - what is so special about "Übergrößenträger"?

Installed an updated version that support lucene's CJK indexer here:
http://forum-test.libreoffice.org:8080/jforum-2.3.2/
And it seems to work well for Chinese (search for 是一套自由的办公软件 for
example) - and also the Cyrillic and Arabic, etc is found - but
something is wrong with the umlauts...
When you search for "Übergröß" - it finds matches in two posts - and
in the second match it even discards the "Ü" - searching for the full
"Übergrößenträger" results in no match.

So anyone familiar with lucene around?

ciao
Chrisitan
