I read over the challenge site again last night (early this morning) and
it really does rather make it sound like there is not much need for more
$$$ when we all know reality is always closer to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzOidHfvOCs

;-)

I could put a temporary English page, for now, on the LibreOffice site -
set to _not_ display a menu.

Ok, sounds good. How about you set-up such a page at
www.libreoffice.org/donate and we use this as a translateable basis for
all other language projects? We could e.g. translate this to
de.libreoffice.org/spenden and the like.

The basic information needed is at
http://challenge.documentfoundation.org/donate/

Alight - well, I created 4 pages, the en base page and 3 translation
pages.
[none of which are currently published]

http://challenge.documentfoundation.org/donate
This is the base page in en-US language

http://challenge.documentfoundation.org/donate-de
the de translation page

http://challenge.documentfoundation.org/donate-fr
the fr translation page

http://challenge.documentfoundation.org/donate-ru
the ru translation page

A couple of problems - first the paypal form. Not quite sure how to set
that up: I designated the page type for the new pages as "user form",
then tried to copy the html for the form along with the rest of the
content, but the form stuff is simply stripped out...I suppose this is
simply a case of where you must do it via the CMS UI - so not a big
thing really.

Second, the translation pages, I thought to just give others a little
head start - but:

When I created the DE page no problem, I was able to edit content and
brought the DE text over, changed the page display name, etc.

However when I created the RU and FR pages I am not able to edit
content, each page is read-only for me (in fact in the CMS the page is
listed as hidden]...I have no idea what is up with that really?

Anyway - I did notice that on the challenge site a few of the translated
pages are out of date, still showing OOoDev information for example...so
that is something that needs attention and I have no access to that area
so can't help with that.
