Curses... absolutely not? Any chance this might be changed in the

It is a constant annoyance, if there is no solution, I will be
switching to Apache's OO.

I am not seeing the behavior you are reporting with LO Build ID:
350m1(Build:2) on Ubuntu 12.04

I have LO, and it also has this problem. Clearly, that was
changed in 3.5.6.x.
I also have installed. This problem has been remove from
it also.
Another point, the other complaint about the text outline that was
introduced in 3.5.0.x has also been removed. Text outline is now a
narrow light gray line. Seems that someone listened to our complaints
and changed this behavior back to what it had been from the beginning.

Odd. I have: Version (Build ID: 932b512) (linux .deb) and it
certainly still happens on all of my installations.

@Don: if that bug bothers you, you'll really enjoy these related bugs:
[ Page Layout Guides (margins, headers, footers) No Longer Visible]
Not to worry... with 3.6 just go to Tools|Options|LibreOffice
Writer|Formatting Aids: and untick everything ticked under 'Display
of'... Now go back and turn on: View|Nonprinting Characters and you have
layout guides again!

Of course your blue header/footer line feature will still be available,
but you'll no longer be able to view:
- Paragraph end
- Custom hyphens
- Spaces
- Non-breaking spaces
- Tabs
- Breaks
- Hidden text
- Fields: Hidden text
- Fields: Hidden paragraphs
But hey, you'll be able to see page guides again (including column
guides). Cool huh?
My bug report was marked as a dupe of 46073 (twice actually). However I
think attachments are worth a look.
[ UI: Header, footer & and page break indicators in multipage view]
[VIEWING: Heading - Footer - Pagebreak lines appear somewhere in the page]
