Hi Pier,

on my dell latitude 6510, opensuse 12.1, kde 4.9, LibreOffice
3.5:build-403 Build ID: 350m1(Build:403), font liberation serif, printer
samsung CLP-320N

using writer, when I print, sometimes and often, the first letter of a
chapter or of the table is wrong, wrong means that is an unreadable or
distorted letter. (attached two little files the colored should be 1 and 2)

if I print on file the resulting PDF is ok;
if I print the same file with kword (the calligra writer :-) it is ok;
if I print the same file from windows7 it is ok;
if I print the same file using print>properties>device>printer language
type and choose postscript level1 instead of PDF it is ok

I don't know if it depends on libreoffice but it seems to be, but can
depend on printer or printer driver (kword show a different printing
window), can you try if you have a similar problem??

thnx, ciao, pier

Check to see if the OpenSuse repositories carry the SpLix drivers[1] and if so install these and test to see if this fixes your problems.

Cheers,

Marc
