It is easier with hindsight but practically impossible beforehand. One reason i prefer Gnu&Linux
systems to Windows is that people like to show off rather than refusing to explain.

I feel like a dummy. It never even occured to me to set Default Programs for
LibreOffice. You really shouldn't need to do that, but I guess since we're
talking about Windows Vista, anything is possible. I didn't even need to
set defaults for file types, all I needed to do was set LibreOffice as
Default Program and that did it. I'm pleased it was as easy as that and
like I said initially, I feel like a dummy for not having thought of that
myself. Thank you! -kd5-
