I went to the Download page to get 3.5, but it only offered 3.4.5 or 3.3.4 -- I'll check back often
to see when 3.5 is available.

Yes, they should be included by default, at least in Windows 7, I can't
say for Vista.
There was effectively a bug in the 3.4.x versions of LO, in which a
necessary library was missing, which prevented from accessing. This was
resolved for 3.5. The last time I tried it (before the release of beta
versions of LO 3.5, it was working).
