Hi :) If the database works in LibreOffice on PC then it will work the same on a Mac in the same version of LibreOffice. If the database is a fairly simple one then Base is probably good to use. It might be worth trying to use MariaDb as the back-end rather than the default HSQL. MariaDb is an OpenSource fork of MySql and is a drop-in replacement for it. Some experts recommend using PostgreSQL as the back-end instead. Any of those 3 would be good choices worth trying out. However it might be better to use Kexi instead from the KOffice / Calligra Office suite. LibreOffice Base does not have a large development team and can be a bit quirky at times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kexi http://www.kexi-project.org/ Regards from Tom :) ________________________________ From: Nathan Ruttley <nathan@auberj.co.uk> To: users@global.libreoffice.org Sent: Fri, 2 September, 2011 10:15:48 Subject: [libreoffice-users] Platform cross-compatability Hi, I am wanting to make a database on a windows PC and then transfer it to a mac PC (the mac isn't mine so creating it on the mac isn't an option) but I am unsure as to whether this will work! Could anyone advise me as to if this will work and if not, any other software packages that will allow me to do this. -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+help@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+help@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
