Hi :)
That is the best version to stick with. It might be worth changing which
version of java you are using or better still avoid using it at all. On my
Ubuntu 10.04 i use LibreOffice 3.3.2 too and in

Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Java
I am on 1.6.0_20. Apparently the _21 is slightly better (allegedly) but then it
starts getting worse, with the _26 being fairly dire for LO. Apparently it's
fine for web-browsers, just not LO.

I have not heard of Kexi but there seem to be a few programs around.
Regards from
Tom :)

Hi Tom,

Hmm, that's too bad about Base. Do you happen to know anything about Kexi? It
sounds like a KDE equivalent.

It looks like I'm using version 3.3.2 (the latest available from the Ubuntu
repo). I'm running it on Ubuntu 11.04.

Apparently Base is very difficult to work with. MS Access is much easier.
It's
not being as actively developed as the other apps in LibreOffice and each
version has it's own quirks.

Do you know which version of Base you are working with? 3.4.2, 3.4.1, 3.3.3?
Also which operating system; Windows, Ubuntu, another gnu&linux, Bsd or Mac?
Regards from
Tom :)

Subject: [libreoffice-users] Out of memory error trying to add new record

Hi,

I'm a first-time Base user who ran into a serious problem almost right away.

I created a new database with one table with only a handful of fields. I used
the wizard to create a form for that table and tried to add records to it. I
was
only able to add one record; when I tried to save the second record, I
received
an 'out of memory' error, SQL status S1000, error code 72. I also received
this
error when I tried to add a record using Table Data View instead of the form.

I run LibreOffice inside a VM, where the virtual hard disk has 2 gb of free
space and the VM has 1.5 gb ram. I haven't touched the LibreOffice memory
settings. I haven't had any memory problems with other LibreOffice
applications.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
