Why is it this program want to do everything on my Desktop

like:
1) installing installation files
I reckon that's part of the install.

2) placing an icon to start LibreOffice
During the install (on Windows - is that what you are complaining
aobut?) is a page:

Click Install to begin the installation.
that clearly has a checkbox for:
Create a start link on desktop

Perhaps you missed that?

no, i did not miss that, sorry for the confusion

1st, i was installing on Windows7 (64-bits), but because there's no
64-bits Windows version i was installing the 32-bits Windows version.

The question was meant to ask why this install folder is crerated on the
Desktop bij default, and the same for this Icon.

I know that you can change it, but this default location is NEVER a good
place!

A much better place would be a TEMP folder if these installation files
will no be needed anymore after installation, and for the ICON, a
default 'not checked' to create this thing..
