I downloaded both documents and when I tried LO first it acted as you
stated.  However, when I viewed the .docx file in OOo and saved it as
.docx (the MSO 2007 format) it opened fine in LO with both tables and
graphs.
LO build 3.2.99.0
Kubuntu 10.04
Linux kubuntu 2.6.32-25-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 19:52:42 UTC 
2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
