I agree with Charles that talking of adopting a mascot for the
LibreOffice brand is still way too early.
We are just starting to get the brand recognition that we deserve,
although the path to a complete and independent brand recognition is
still quite a long one.
Our awareness is still low, especially in some market sectors and some
geographies, although we have done quite well, if we think about the
position we have been starting from in 2010.
It took us more than two years to get the first articles where our brand
name was not associated with OOo (and an awful lot of positioning,
agenda setting and framing efforts on my side, although I understand
that most of the people are not aware of the technicalities involved in
this brand awareness effort).
We must therefore concentrate on the LibreOffice brand for the
foreseeable future (my best guesstimate: summer of 2014), which means
that we might be ready for the launch of a mascot at the conference in 2014.
