Hi,
We're now past the 5 pm deadline (CET), so the core messaging for the
landing page will be pretty much what's written here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/40Messaging
That is:
* Collaborate with others (Integration with CMS and online
documents storage (CMIS))
* Hassle-free documents exchange (better OOXML filters)
* VISIO and Publisher documents? We have these covered!
* Faster, more powerful (startup speed & documents size
improvements)
* New and powerful UI layouts: Theme your office suite the way you
like, design new exciting extensions!
* Right to Left Languages are first-class citizens now
* Are you a keynote master? We have something for your Android
smartphone...
Best,
Charles.

Folks,
One thing: we are focusing on the features at this stage, not the slogan.
Thanks,
Charles.

I was going to use *Libre* but hesitated so to not repeat the same word
twice in the slogan.
Free was used in the sense of free speech, not free beer.

I have stated a slogan some time ago... "Libreoffice. Tools for
real
life"..

Hello,
As discussed during our various calls we have three layers of
messaging
(aside nice graphical elements):
* the PR itself, announcing the release
* the features page, directly based on the release notes on
the wiki
* between 5 to 10 meta-features to be used as main elements
for
anyone
checking out what the 4.0 is about. Basically these "meta -
features"
are pretty much the coolest features we have picked out of
the
release, and turn them not into specific and well described
features,
but rather solutions or ideas. We (a small group of active
marketing
team members) opened a wiki page, gathered what we thought
were the
top features (and before you ask, this IS subjective) and
turn them
into specific phrases, ideas, soundbites for the release.
You can see the result there:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/40Messaging
(aka Top Features) and we would like your input. Don't write
ten more
features or ten different features, just tell us if you feel
there's
something missing, or something sounds bad, or that we must
have a
hole
in our heads for not having picked this or that feature.
Once this is done, we're shipping this as "prime content" to
the
website team, and it will go to the 4.0 landing page. The
deadline is
Monday 5 pm CET.

+1 to "Libreoffice. Tools for real life"..
But I would change it to "Libreoffice. *Free *tools for real
life"..
As the term free can have ambiguous meanings what about using 'Libre'
instead
"LibreOffice. *Libre* tools for real life"
"The only significant difference is use of the word "libre" instead
of
"free" to distinguish the latter from the other meaning of "free" in
English: gratis or free of charge." http://freedomdefined.org/Libre
