Marc,
The BoD (mostly Thorsten) kind of does that but still this year the
forecast is limited as there's the notion that we still are working on a
limited, minimalistic budget.
This being said this needs to change and I agree with you that we ought to
have prepared this fundraising in a better way. Part of the problem is,
members of the BoD and much of the rest of people here are swamped...
Best,
Charles.
Thanks for the reply. We are all swamped and in dire need of contributor
help other than devs.
That being said, I don't know if an appeal for donations without having
a clear reason for it is a good idea, even if the BoD is swamped. It's a
matter of priorities. If a projection is not ready, then a donation
campaign should not have started. I think in Canada, this would not go
down too well with the regulatory agencies -- fundraising money without
a good reason is never a good idea for non-profits.
We need a clear list of next year's projection of expenses. This will
obviously have to wait till the conference when you touch base with all
the people involved with the project.
Maybe next time, we should plan for a fundraising campaign but in the
right order of things.
All of your work and time volunteered by the teams and in particular BoD
members is well appreciated. Thanks for the all of your help.
Cheers,
Marc
