Branding guidelines are strict, because it is not good to change
branding often - especially, if current branding is not bad. There is
a popular proverb that "people don't like [big] changes". For me,
current branding is perfect, but 4.0 release is BIG event, so there's
a need to make brand update.
One more thing: does 4.0 will have new (slightly changed) file types icons?

You shouldn't be angry (¡el que se enoja pierde! :-) but I agree that
the brand guidelines should be less strict. A thing to improve for
4.1? :-)
