Hi Shawn
Why don't you add yourself to the Design Team members page?
Create a Login first and then once you have the above, edit the main
Design/Whiteboards page and add a section on this project. You can also
add a specific page for the video project with an initial draft
structure which the main page refers to.
Use the Edit facility to see how the other pages are linked including
Design\Whiteboards\InterfaceImprovement - this should give you a useful
guide.
Then maybe send an email asking for those design team members that would
like to be involved to let you know.
Record some of your ideas and the suggestion for help videos.
At some stage it will be necessary to communiate with the developers to
see how easily the links to help videos can be incorporated. You could
start off with a higher level outline of help areas and then with input
from others, built a complete tree of topics and gradually populate them
with videos - that will take a combined effort as it will be too big for
one person to do.
Cheers

So Phil,
Thanks for your engagement in this discussion, and for your input! I am excited to hear resonance
on this issue. There are several points I have already addressed three areas in my video tutorial
series:
1) 7-10 Minute Product demo
2) 3-5 Minute Feature Presentation (Tips& Tricks)
3) 60 Seconds, which allows for a fast overview of interesting things that are not covered in
detail, but are easy like little known keyboard shortcuts.

It could be done on several levels right down to specific topics such as automatic tabbing.
It could be possible to even have built into LibreOffice, links to Help Videos on various topics -
just a click away to make it very convenient. That would give it a competitive advantage over
other products.
This idea has many legs! There could be a role to coordinate a sub-team of design members working
together on this.
As far as embedded video, I think that it is a great idea. Or, if there is a knowledge base,
embedded videos there as well. Anyway, I am in rehabilitation at the moment for my back for the
next two weeks, so in the meantime I will be keeping an eye on the list and forming ideas. If
anyone has an idea for the first video, then I will work on this as well.
I have a three step process:
Write the text
Shoot the video
Record the voice over
The voice over can then be replaced for internationalization, if necessary or desired. Looking
forward to the continuing discussions!
