Re: [libreoffice-design] MimeType icons - first draft ready for discussion

Hi all!

As "promised", here is what I've created during the last hours ... you
might notice (at the first sight), that there have been only a few
changes. This is mostly correct :-)

To me, it was more about cleaning up the icons a bit - especially the
tiny 16px icons. And, I tried to come up with some structure for the
icon creation.

Okay, here are the changes ...

* Structure *

I've created a structure with placeholders for 256px ... 16px icons, for
most of the required icons (mmh, I just realize that the XML icons are
missing...). And, I've considered both Default Color and High Contrast
versions.

Next, I've improved the basic structure of each of the icons - I've
rebuilt all of them to be a bit more pixel perfect. And I've tried to
make better re-use of the color transitions to keep the file as clean as
possible.

To ease the handling, I've extended the layer usage (already used by
Bernhard) to what we currently have in the other "Initial
Branding/Website/..." files. Please consider to have a look at that, if
you want to work on the icons (which would be great, by the way).


* Graphical Design *

My changes address most of my concerns I've stated in one of my last
mails, so here some summary:
      * Slightly larger icons in general
      * Larger and more detailed document/application symbols
      * Template icons now feature some "college block binding"
      * Some more icons (Chart, Printer Setup, Installer, ...)

Personally, I do think that this is a nice iteration based on Bernhard's
work. I would love to see that some more experienced graphic designer
could pick our work to make/improve the larger sized icons. And, I'd
like to hear Bernhard's opinion on that ...

@ Björn (if you read this): Does it make sense to check some of the
icons, e.g. I'm still unsure, which template icons people are most
comfortable with. Looking at the ODF icons, they introduced some more
characteristics to distinguish them from the default document icons.
