As we are to test the software for the next meeting I thought that
we could post when we are on Mumble on this thread. So, if you are
logged in to Mumble, just leave a note letting up know when you are
on and perhaps how long you will be on. This way we can test it out
for our next meeting.
I am presently on Mumble 13:57 and should be on Mumble till around
15:00. My client is on.
Cheers

What is Mumble?
Do you need to have a sound card with microphone attached?
I do not have too much abilities to use a mic on my systems, at this
time.
Something about the hardware and software support for full duplexing
with the OS.
Actually my only good mic died a few years back and I never replaced
it. What I have now does not give any good quality, but was enough
to the the hardware.
Hi Tim:
Yes, you would need a microphone. If I remember correctly you are on
Ubuntu. I believe the Mumble client is in the repositories and it is
the latest client. You could log in to Mumble and just listen through
your speakers if you wish and "talk" to the rest of the people through
chat. I have asked for "Admin" rights on Mumble so that I can "Add"
people onto the service. I have not hear back yet.
To join the service. Set you Mumble to:
Connect to vm3.documentfoundation.org, port 64738 with your desired
username, then right klick on your user in the channel list and select
"register". Let me know when you have done this and hopefully I will
have the Admin rights by then. The people who have Admin rights are:
Alex Werner (alex@documentfoundation.org) (he set up the TDF Mumble
server) and David Nelson (commerce@traduction.biz).
Cheers
Marc
Another issue is my speech problems that came from Dyslexia and the 3
strokes.
I do not know if I would be able to do it, since sometimes it is very
hard to get words out.
Will look into it though.
